What is Tax Free in Belarus

Tax Free is a value added tax refund system (hereinafter referred to as VAT) for purchases made in the territory of the Republic of Belarus by non-residents of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter referred to as the EAEU), which includes: the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Armenia, the Kyrgyz Republic ... The only operator of the Tax Free system in the Republic of Belarus is RUE Beltamozhservice.

In Belarus, the Tax Free system applies to all goods taxed at a rate of 20%, and provides for a return of 15% of the purchase amount excluding VAT.

How to shop with Tax Free

The service is available when purchasing goods within one day in one store operating under the Tax Free system, in the amount of more than 80 (BYN) Belarusian rubles.

When paying for purchases, you must contact the store employee to issue a VAT refund check (hereinafter - Tax Free Check). To do this, you will need a passport or other document replacing it. The Tax Free check is drawn up by a store employee in triplicate. The buyer is given the first copy of the Tax Free Check (blue) and a copy of its second copy (yellow, for a customs officer), as well as a special envelope.

How to get money

Within 3 months from the date of purchase, it is necessary to go through customs control in order to confirm the export of goods outside the Republic of Belarus. When passing through customs control, you must present the purchased goods and the issued Tax Free Check in order to receive the customs stamp. Purchases must be unused and in undamaged packaging. A copy of the second copy of the Tax Free Check (yellow) remains with the customs officer.

How to get a refund

By bank transfer to a bank card

In the first copy of the Tax Free Check (blue), the buyer enters information about the bank card to which the VAT refund amount will be transferred. The bank card number must be 16 digits, the current account should not be indicated. Refunds are possible only for international bank cards Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay issued to a foreign person. The buyer puts the completed Tax Free Check in a special envelope and puts it in a special Tax Free box, which is located at all crossing points of the state border of the Republic of Belarus, or sends it free within 6 months after the goods are exported by mail from the territory of any state. Refunds are made within 30 calendar days after receipt of the Tax Free Check in RUE "Beltamozhservice"

When exporting goods:
