Water Mill

Water Mill
Republic of Belarus, Lida district, ag. Courtyard

The history of the village Dvorische begins more than 5 centuries ago. The first mention of the estate dates back to 1524, when its owner was Yuri Ilyinich - a statesman of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, a marshal and the Lida governor. Further, among its owners were - Nikolai Radzivil the Orphan, monks of the Jesuit order, Filippov, Karyshev, Volsky, Puslovsky, barons Lieven.
Until the middle of the 19th century, all buildings in the Court, including the palace, were wooden, and only in the second half of the same century they were replaced with stone ones. The courtyard has turned into a typical farm with a palace, a water mill, a starch factory, a distillery, a forge, a stable, a barn, a glacier, a tavern and other buildings. Unfortunately, many buildings have not survived.
At present, the attention is drawn to the water mill, in which exhibition halls are open to all.
