House of Valentin Tavlaya

Built in 1926 from wood. Two-storey building (second floor - attic). In 1939-1941. the house belonged to the lawyer of Kira Brant-Tavlai, with whom the Belarusian poet Valentin Tavlai lived. 1970-1980 this building was adapted to accommodate various institutions of the city (medicine, sports department). Later it was lined with red brickwork. In 2010, this house was opened as a literary department of the Lida Historical and Art Museum. In 2014, there was a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the poet Valentin Tavlai, the main part of which was the opening of a memorial plaque to the poet.
The house of V. Tavlai currently hosts exhibitions of a literary character. In addition, the memorial chamber of Valentin Tavlaya is located, in which photographs about the life and creative activity of the poet are exhibited, as well as things that he used during his lifetime (a folding knife, an old lamp - girandole, as well as copies of his manuscripts - autographs), and all the furniture is presented from the times of the 40s. It collects information about the life and creative activity of the writers of Lidchina, holds presentations of books and literary meetings "Sukvetsse" at the editorial office of "Lidskay Gazeta".
